People might wonder how a sparkling Christmas tree appears on The Stocks at this time of year, as it’s some distance from any buildings and who’s paying the bill?
No, it’s not down to Santa’s Elves but to the generous donation of the tree by Chadlington Quality Foods and the lighting from the original Late Summer Fayre. Thanks are also due to the enthusiastic group of volunteers who every year arrange the very enjoyable ‘Carols on the Stocks’ event. Next year’s lighting will be sponsored by the Great Brook Run
This year many villagers got together, warmed by mulled wine, hot dogs and sustained by stollen marzipan cake, to sing a range of traditional carols and songs. The Twelve Days of Christmas finale was particularly enjoyed by a few who knew all the actions that illustrate each new verse!!
