Use of village salt bins

During the bad weather Chadlington residents may have noticed that there are salt grit bins in the village; behind the Memorial Hall, opposite the playground and on the Stocks. The bins and the salt grit are supplied by Oxfordshire County Council and maintained by the Parish Council.

The material is for the use of local people during snowy and icy weather to scatter on paths and pavements to prevent accidents, especially where people most liable to fall may need to get out and by their carers who may need to visit them. Residents are requested to use the grit thoughtfully and sparingly so that there will be enough for everyone who needs it at times of severe weather.
