If you were unable to be there and join in the fun on an unexpected sunny morning at the end of last year, you will want to know how the Great Brook Run went this year. The run is a cross-country race that takes place half on land, half in water over just over a mile,The organisers report on their website sums the event up as follows:

“The 2016 Great Brook Run was once again a huge success with 175 competitors taking part, wearing everything from proper running gear to Kangaroos. The winners podium had a familiar feel to it with Ivo Brown and Amy Turner once again taking the top honours for the men and women.

A huge thank you to all our marshals and helpers, and St John’s Ambulance, who as always make the event possible, fun and safe for everyone.”

The runners times ranged from an amazing less than 7 mins to nearly half an hour. For the full 2016 race results go to The Great Brook Run website www.greatbrookrun.co.uk.

And if you’d like to ensure that this wonderful Chadlington village tradition goes ahead at the end of 2017, the race needs a new group of organisers, so put yourself forward by making contact through their website.
