Power Cuts – continued…..

To say ‘continued’ gives a clear indication that things have not improved – many residents, particularly around The Stocks and College Farm, have had numerous short and long interruptions to electricity supply over recent weeks.
On Thursday 10th November there were so many problems during the day that Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) sent out engineers to inspect the electrical supply box on Chapel Row at 8pm in the evening. What started as two vehicles grew in the space of 30 minutes to five trucks, one even carrying a JCB digger for potential overnight work. After 2 hours of climbing street lamps and examining fuse boxes and cables, the teams of engineers (about 8 in total) had still failed to identify the exact cause of the problem (although they may be narrowing down the list of options!).
Please do continue to report all incidents to SSE on 105 (calls are free) and please also notify Tony Samuel, on College Farm, by email tonysamuel100@gmail.com if you experience a power cut. He is particularly keen to know if power cuts have been experienced in other parts of the village – which may help identify the source of the problem.
