Continuing Electricity Supply Problem

Over 20 homes in West End were plunged into darkness again last night for over three hours as the electricity supply problems in Chadlington continue. Scottish and Southern Electricity, the local energy supplier, received 11 calls from villagers who’s electricity had gone off around 8.15 p.m. on Sunday evening.

An engineer worked for a couple of hours to restore power just before midnight but the cause of the problem is yet to be identified for certain. An SSE phone operator said that heavy rain could have affected the electricity supply junction box at Chapel Row, causing a short circuit with the underground cables feeding local homes.

If you have any problem with your electricity please call SSE on 105 or  0800 072 7282.

Irrespective of which electricity company you use for paying your bills, ALL electricity to homes in the village is provided by one central Distribution Network Operator (DNO). In Chadlington our DNO is Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks www.ssepd.co.uk/Home/
