A number of people reported brief power cuts in Chadlington in September. In some cases these power cuts only lasted a few seconds – in others they lasted well over an hour. Irrespective of which electricity company you use for paying your bills, ALL electricity to homes in the village is provided by one central Distribution Network Operator (DNO). In Chadlington our DNO is Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks www.ssepd.co.uk/Home/
If you have a power cut it is advisable to call Scottish & Southern .. either through calling freephone number 105, or call 0800 072 7282.
One resident who has called Scottish & Southern reports that they acknowledge there is a continuing problem and SSE have agreed to monitor voltage in the area via a voltage recorder to be fitted to the electricity cables, which should provide them with more detailed information.
So please call SSE if you experience further power cuts – and let Tony Samuel (Field Barn, College Farm) know too – he is the main contact on this issue with SSE. Contact tony samuel using this link.
