“Chipping Norton Neighbourhood Plan
Following extensive research and consultation Chipping Norton Town Council have produced a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the town.
Consultation
We are now consulting on the Neighbourhood Plan for a 6 week period from Thursday 18 June to 5pm on 31 July 2015, in line with Regulation 16 of Part 5 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
Chipping Norton Town Council has undertaken extensive research and consultation to inform the production of a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the town. The Plan sets out a suite of planning policies to realise a clear agreed vision for the future of the Town: ‘A working Cotswold town thriving economically and socially as a rural hub while maintaining its strong sense of community spirit and conserving and enhancing its character, high-quality historic built and natural environment, local services and facilities’
Procedure
Following this statutory 6-week consultation period, within which representations can be made, West Oxfordshire District Council will submit these with the Chipping Norton Neighbourhood Development Plan proposal for Independent Examination. If successful at Examination, a referendum will be held. Should the referendum result in more than half those voting (ie 50% plus1) West Oxfordshire District Council will ‘make’ the Plan and it will form part of the Development Plan against which planning applications will be assessed and determined.
